Morocco’s Economy Records Strongest Growth Since 2021

Morocco’s economy experienced robust growth in the second quarter of 2025, expanding by 5.5%, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP). This marks the country’s strongest quarterly growth since the post-pandemic recovery phase in 2021, highlighting renewed momentum across key sectors.

The HCP’s latest report on national economic performance attributes this expansion to improved output in agriculture, industry, and services, along with rising domestic demand. The report also noted a moderate improvement in employment levels, with paid employment increasing by 1.4% year-on-year during the same period. Although this growth rate was slightly lower than the 3.4% recorded in the first quarter, it reflects a steady recovery trend in the Moroccan labour market.

Economists suggest that Morocco’s consistent focus on industrial modernization, renewable energy investment, and digital transformation has strengthened its resilience against global economic fluctuations. The government’s continued infrastructure development and foreign investment initiatives have also played a key role in sustaining momentum.
